At We Do Recover Inc., we are committed to empowering individuals and families in Eastern West Virginia who are affected by substance use and involvement in the criminal justice system. Our mission is to create sustainable pathways to recovery by providing compassionate support, evidence-based services, and access to transitional housing that promotes stability, self-sufficiency, and long-term community reintegration.

A thriving Eastern West Virginia community where individuals and families impacted by substance use and the criminal justice system achieve long-term recovery and successful reintegration as healthy, contributing members of society.

WDRI is committed to developing and operating a transitional housing program grounded in best practices, ethical standards, and community accountability. The following policies reflect the guiding principles that will inform program implementation as funding is secured and services are launched.
Housing Philosophy
The program is designed to provide safe, structured, and supportive transitional housing for individuals working toward stability and recovery. Housing is viewed as a foundational component of well-being and long-term success. The program emphasizes personal responsibility, mutual respect, and supportive accountability while promoting a stable living environment that encourages growth and independence.
Recovery-Oriented Approach
The program is guided by a recovery-oriented framework that recognizes recovery as a personal and individualized process. Services will emphasize strengths, self-determination, and goal setting while supporting participants in building skills, community connections, and sustainable pathways to long-term stability. Collaboration with treatment providers and community-based recovery supports will be central to this approach.
Trauma-Informed Commitment
We are committed to operating within a trauma-informed framework. This includes recognizing the prevalence and impact of trauma, promoting physical and emotional safety, fostering trust and transparency, supporting empowerment and choice, and avoiding practices that may re-traumatize participants. Policies and staff practices will be developed to reflect these principles.
Non-Discrimination Policy
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, national origin, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law. Services and housing opportunities will be provided in accordance with all applicable fair housing, civil rights, and non-discrimination laws and regulations
Privacy & Confidentiality
We are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of individuals seeking or receiving services. Personal information will be collected and used solely for program-related purposes and in compliance with applicable laws and funding requirements. Confidentiality policies and data protection practices will be established prior to program implementation to ensure ethical and responsible handling of participant information.

"Every challenge can become part of our growth. In struggle, we can find strength. In darkness, we can find light. And when we rise, we are living proof that hope and healing prevail."
